• The GSA Schedule contract is a five-year agreement (with 3 five-year option terms equaling a total 20 year contract) with the federal government. This contract vehicle allows the federal government to mirror commercial buying practices and purchase what you sell directly, rather than using the public procurement (or bidding) process. The advantage to the government buyer is negotiated firm-fixed pricing structures guaranteeing a government best-value solution, greatly reduced paperwork, and ease of meeting small business goals.
• This contract vehicle allows government officials to buy based on the right reasons (quality, branding, and most importantly, relationships) rather than purchase based on low-bid. A GSA contract does not mean that your firm needs to be lower in price than any of your competitors, only that the government receives your Most Favored Customer status.
